Snappy, bopping, elevating but also melancholic, the song reflects on mankind as being a part of some industry, even in private life. "I am Industry" is told from a person's perspective, who has worshipped the industry in order to be loved and liked by society, for society evaluates every individual man by its paycheck. After all, being sacked and replaced by machines, which do his job much more efficiently, he's getting a "con"-feeling.
